Camanche Lake Community Center

Since opening in May of 2003, the Camanche Lake Community Center has offered healthy and community-oriented activities for people of all ages. Whether it is after-school art activities, children's dance, bunko games, bingo game nights, educational workshops, or classes and activities for seniors, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The following are examples of services provided at the Camanche Lake Community Center: 

Emergency Food Distribution
2nd and 4th Monday of every month. Please call the Center if you would like more information.

Math and Reading Tutors
Free of charge! A Donation to the Center is always welcome. Call the Center to make an appointment.

Infonet Neighborhood Information Center
Free computers available for your use: Internet, Word Processing, etc. Internet access made available by a donation from Communications Advantage.

Does Your Child Need Health Insurance?
Apply for free or low cost health coverage for your child through the Healthy Families Insurance Program. Certified Application Assistants are ready to help you. Sign-up sites available throughout Amador County. Call 223-1485 x270 or 763-2794.

Health Resource Library
The Camanche lake Community Center, Through a grant from the California Endowment, is a Community Health and Wellness Center. One of the services we are able to provide because of this grant is a Health Resource Library, full of books on everything from Alternative Medicine to Women's Health, and everything in between.

Community Book Exchange
We have shelves full of books, for kids and adults, in all genres, just waiting for you to read! If you are looking for a book to pass an afternoon with, we might have it. Just come in and pick it up! Of course, if you need to make room on your shelves, and would like to pass your books on, we would love to make them available to others to use. Your donations are always welcome.

Countywide Resource Information
If you need information about resources available to Amador County residents throughout the county, we just might have the information to direct you. Come talk to us if you need information for Amador County Recreation Agency, for parenting classes, for financial assistance, or for anything else you have questions about. If we don't have the answer, we can definitely guide you to someone who does.
