Child Care

First 5 Amador is committed to funding programs that will increase, improve, and enhance the availability, affordability, and quality of child care in Amador County.

Some of these programs include:

• First 5 Sponsorship program
• Supporting our local child care provider association
• Providing Mini-grants to family and center-based child care providers
• Providing free trainings and sharing of information through the Kids in Common Early Childhood Education Collaborative
• Support information distribution and presentations through participation in the Children’s Inclusive Care Council, including "All Children Are Special: How to Know When a Child Needs Help", a resource manual for parents and providers in regards to identifying special needs
• Participation in the Amador Child Care Council
• Working with the California Preschool Instructional Network to bring workshops to the county
