The Parent Express Newsletter provides parents with resources promoting early childhood learning by fostering the individual child’s readiness to learn to love, love to play, play to learn.  The Newsletters are an extension of services provided to families that participate in the Baby Welcome Wagon and provide age-appropriate material for parents and children. The educational material used in the newsletter is the University of California, Cooperative Extension’s, Parent Express Newsletter. This newsletter is a series of monthly publications that discuss pertinent facts and tips customized to the current stage of the infant’s development. The format is extremely family centered, informative, age appropriate and allows for efficient distribution over a large target population. Included monthly with the Parent Express are fliers and information about community events that target the families with children 0 – 3, material that supports the topic (such as choking or oral health) and a monthly Activities Calendar.
